Dropping Flowers

Beautiful flowers arrived to say congratulations to my daughter. Within a few days they started to droop. “Wow, those flowers didn’t last long,” was my first thought. Even though it looked like there was plenty of water, I decided to add some. Within a few hours they perked up. Now once again it’s a beautiful arrangement.

As I looked at it today, I realized I am like those flowers. I need rest. It may seem like I have had enough. But if I just stop and give myself rest, I perk up, too. My struggle is I don’t see my droop, or I quickly ignore it.

What are your signs that you are drooping? How to you know you need to stop and rest?
